The Next Generation of Pro-Israel Advocacy on the World Stage
An all-American kid living in Indianapolis with a strong sense of Jewish identity, Josh was no writer by a long shot. But, in 1998, bothered by seemingly endless barrage of negative media coverage about Israel, he took the time to send a letter to the New York Times explaining that the situation wasn’t the way it was made out to be. To his surprise, the New York Times published his letter the following day!
Buoyed by his success and realizing the power wielded by the pen, Josh began to work more and more to respond to unfavorable media coverage of Israel in the media.
By 2008, over 100 letters and Op-eds had been published by a wide variety of media sources, including, Time Magazine, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, US News and World Report, and many others.
In 2009, CAMERA, The Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America, honored Josh at their annual dinner in New York with their prestigious “letter writer of the year” award in the presence of 400 of Israel’s top advocates and supporters around the world, including Senator Joe Lieberman, and Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren. For the past five years, Josh has been active in media trainings, public relations, and speaking tours to impress upon pro-Israel advocates around the world the power of the pen and inspiring and showing them how all it takes is passion for a cause to overcome challenges and make a difference.
Some of Josh’s clients include: the Zionist Organization of America, The Yeshivat Hesder of Sderot, The Binyamin Regional Council, the JCC of Rockland County, and many others.
As a writer for the Jerusalem Post, the Algemeiner news website, and Israel National News, as well as running a successful radio program on www.israelnationalradio.com, Josh continues to cover topics of interest and bringing Israel and its people to the world at large.
His children’s book, Itamar makes friends, has been reviewed and acclaimed by many publications including The Jewish Press, The Five Towns Jewish Times, Jewish Press International, etc.
A sponsor offered funding to publish a Hebrew language version as well, which is scheduled for release in March 2012. For more information about the book, click here Gefen Publishing.
