A group of young adults from Germany, including direct descendants of Nazi Wehrmacht soldiers and/or members of the SS, met with Holocaust survivors to gain much-needed closure for the sins of their grandparents and great-grandparents.

Frimet and Arnold Roth, whose 15-year-old daughter Malki, a U.S. national, was murdered in August 2001 in the Sbarro pizzeria bombing in Jerusalem, published a new video this week calling on the Biden administration to pressure the Kingdom of Jordan to extradite Ahlam Ahmad Tamimi—the Hamas terrorist who orchestrated the bombing—so that she can stand trial in a U.S. federal court.

The Regavim Movement, a research-based think tank and lobbying group dedicated to preserving Israel’s resources and sovereignty, has filed a petition against the Jerusalem Municipality, demanding enforcement against what they allege is an illegal subterranean tunnel dug by the Church of the Dormition on Mount Zion in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Brian Finkel reached out to Dubai-based Al Barakah Dates Factory, and without knowing he lived in Israel, it became his largest supplier. As the relationship grew, the two companies ended up forming a strategic partnership that is becoming representative of the region.

The decision by the Israel Lands Authority last month to award contracts to several building companies allowing them to begin marketing 1,257 new housing units in Jerusalem’s 42-acre southern Jerusalem neighborhood of Givat Hamatos has been applauded by some, while also garnering international attention, including rousing condemnation from others.

At the end of December, Likud minister and longtime confidant to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Ze’ev Elkin stunned the Israeli political community by announcing that he was leaving the party. Elkin decided to join forces with the newly formed New Hope party led by Netanyahu’s top rival, Gideon Sa’ar, who also bolted Likud in order to challenge the incumbent premier for his job.

The latest edition of the “West Bank Jewish Population Stats Report,” commissioned annually by former Member of Knesset and National Union Party head Yaakov “Ketzaleh” Katz, shows a 2.62 percent growth in 2020, and a 17 percent in growth in the past five years, in the number of Jews who live in Judea and Samaria, more commonly known as the West Bank. According to the report, some 475,481 Jews currently call these regions home.

Benjamin Horgen said he has been focused on “continuing in Esther’s path of positive thinking and seeing the good in life,” while at the same time noting that he has been thrust into the realm of Israel advocacy.
