Unity or Separation in Israel? pt. 2 – i24NEWS English: 24 April 2023

Part 2 of my debate on i24NEWS English – There want Tel Aviv and it’s suburbs to break off from the rest of the country and be known as “#Israel” while everyone else – religious, ultraorthodox, residents of Judea and Samaria, will live in a new country called “Judea.” I think this an insane idea, and think we need to unite and not separate!

Supreme Court Flexing

On Sunday Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, complying with a Supreme Court ruling, fired Shas Party Minister Aryeh Deri. It is true that Deri has a criminal past and promised to stay away from politics, but on this week’s Israel Uncensored, Josh Hasten says that no doubt, the court’s ruling was politically motivated. He explains that the firing of Deri is a result of the court flexing its muscles, upset over the government’s proposed judicial reforms.

The Sour Grapes Protest, part II

Demonstrators took to the streets once again this past Saturday night with headlines claiming they came out to voice their opposition to judicial reform. However, the language used – referring to the current government as a “regime” and comparing it to the Nazi party, as PLO flags waved in the air, shows that the agenda of the sour grapes protesters goes far beyond judicial reform. The scary goal – use any means necessary, even if it means trampling on democracy, to overthrow the government.

The Sour Grapes Protest

Thousands of Israelis demonstrated against the government this past Saturday night under the guise of “democracy,” saying they were against the new government’s proposed judicial reforms. However, on this week’s Israel Uncensored, Josh Hasten says the protest reeked of sour grapes by “liberals,” who in reality don’t respect Israel’s election results or its democratically elected leadership.

Haters Gonna Hate

On today’s Israel Uncensored, Josh Hasten calls out those Israelis who have already taken to the streets to protest the new government – despite the fact that the government hasn’t been given a chance to implement any policies. Josh says that the concepts of “liberalism” and “free speech” have been hijacked by those protestors who claim to be open-minded folks who respect democracy, yet take to the streets when they don’t get what they want.

Finding Loopholes to Fund the PA

While Israel’s government cabinet yesterday decided to deduct tax revenues for the PA as long as they continue to fund their “pay to slay” program, in which terrorists are rewarded for murdering and injuring Jews, experts are saying the money is still being creatively handed over the PA in the form of “loans.” On today’s Israel Uncensored with Josh Hasten, Josh argues that if Israel is going to take the international community to task for its funding of the PA and turn a blind eye to their pay to slay program, then Israel should end the hypocrisy and also stop funding the PA terrorists in suits.

Civil Administration Plans to Uproot Arugot Farms Vineyard

On today’s Israel Uncensored with Josh Hasten, an interview with The Land of Israel Network’s co-founder Jeremy Gimpel. Gimpel along with Land of Israel co-founder Ari Abramowitz are digging their heels in as Israel’s Civil Administration has issued a directive stating that they are planning on destroying Jeremy and Ari’s vineyards at the Arugot Farms. The pair have been working tirelessly on their crops for over five years and have invested hundreds of thousands of shekels into them, yet for reasons unknown, they were informed that on Tuesday January 11, troops would be sent to the site to uproot their work. Listen to this week’s show to hear how you can help support Jeremy and Ari leading up to the potential destruction of their crops.

UPDATE – After the interview was recorded, the Civil Administration delayed the uprooting of the vineyard. They didn’t cancel their decision, but delayed it. Jeremy and Ari fear that the uprooting can take place at any time.

Living with Coronavirus while Focusing on the Positives

On today’s Israel Uncensored with Josh Hasten, an interview with educator and lecturer Rabbi Zev Shandalov who says that despite a virtual country-wide quarantine as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak, the focus should not be on what we can’t do, but on what we can do. Namely the Rabbi says that we should use this opportunity to read more, get to know our families better, study more Torah, and other positive activities even while being on lock down.

Also on the show Josh discusses the current political reality as the country’s leaders try to put together a government, with Blue and White head Benny Gantz disappointingly accepting the endorsement of the Arab Balad Party – an extremist element whose goal is to destroy the State of Israel from within.
