(Dec. 27, 2024 / JNS) People gathered at the Museum of Tolerance in Jerusalem on Wednesday evening to watch “Tragic Awakening,” a documentary that delves into the root causes of antisemitism in the post-Oct. 7 reality, and suggests a paradigm shift on how the oldest hatred can be turned into a source of strength toward Jewish identity and Western values.

A Sad Disunity
On today’s Israel Uncensored with Josh Hasten, Josh laments this period of extreme disunity in Israel. While Josh is clear in his support of judicial reform, the images from today of Jews demonstrating against each other face to face on the streets of Jerusalem, is extremely difficult to witness.
Terror Non-Stop
Another two terrorist attacks happened on Sunday night – in Jerusalem and Tekoa. In the former, an Israeli border police officer was moderately injured in a Jihadist stabbing – the terrorist was shot, while in the latter, an alert community first-response security volunteer liquidated the armed terrorist. These attacks come following the horrible Yom Ha’Azmaut massacre in which three Israelis were murdered in Elad. What steps will the government take to squash the Jihad? All of this plus the latest news from Israel on this week’s Israel Uncensored with Josh Hasten.

Government Ending Talks to Move Ahead with E1 Corridor Construction East of Jerusalem

Is a United Jerusalem Bipartisan?
On today’s Israel Uncensored with Josh Hasten, Josh discusses reports indicating that a group of moderate democrats in the US are preparing to tell President Joe Biden to refrain from opening a consulate to the Palestinian Authority in Jerusalem. A group of 35 Republican senators have already drafted a bill to prevent the move, which if comes to fruition, would give a hostile foreign entity (the PA) a foothold in the city, and be the first step in its redivision. The Sovereignty Movement and other organizations held their first protest against the move this past week outside the old US Consulate on Agron Street in downtown Jerusalem, and plan on hosting a weekly vigil at the site.

Can Jews Pray on the Temple Mount?
Over 1,600 Jews ascended The Temple Mount on Sunday, Tisha B’av to mourn the destruction of both Temples, and show their yearning for the construction of the Third Temple. Some groups were attacked by Arabs, while others were forced off the Mount after singing Hatikva, Israel’s national anthem. A statement released by Prime Minister Bennett on Sunday indicated that Jewish prayer should be allowed at Judaism’s holiest site, yet that statement was walked back this morning, indicating that the “status quo” remains in effect. In other words, Muslims can pray up there, but Jews can not. This story, plus all the latest news from Israel, on today’s Israel Uncensored with Josh Hasten.
For Now, Ceasefire Prompts Calm as Israel Institutes ‘Law and Order’ Campaign
Even though the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas went into effect on May 21, the fact that Hamas isn’t launching rockets and the Israeli military isn’t striking back at terror targets in the Gaza Strip doesn’t mean that peace has broken out between Israelis and Arabs.
Is Palestinian Incitement Driving the Tensions in Jerusalem?
Thousands of Arab protesters have been violently rioting on the Temple Mount (known by Muslims as Haram al-Sharif) throughout the “Jerusalem Day” holiday and over the course of the last several days, accusing Israel of attempting to “storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque” and “Judaize” the entire city. Hundreds of rioters have been injured, along with dozens of Israeli police and security personnel.
