Policymakers aim to enhance US-Israel relations during Trump term

(Dec. 9, 2024 / JNS) Anglo-Israeli public diplomacy professionals, activists and Israel-U.S. relations experts gathered at the Psagot Winery in Binyamin on Thursday for a half-day conference organized by the Yesha Council, representing the communities of Judea and Samaria, to discuss policy opportunities for the Israel-U.S. relationship in light of the incoming Trump administration.

Give Up on Sovereignty for Peace with Saudi Arabia?

A news report over the weekend indicated that incoming Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is once again considering pushing off applying sovereignty over Judea and Samaria in exchange for a normalization agreement with Saudi Arabia. Sovereignty was pushed off in exchange for the Abraham Accords agreement with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain several years ago. On today’s Israel Uncensored, Josh Hasten says that while an alliance against Iran is a top priority, Israel should stay strong on the sovereignty issue.

As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is preparing to lay the groundwork to begin the process of applying Israeli sovereignty to the Jordan Valley, and parts of Judea and Samaria, a debate has emerged among leaders in those Jewish communities over the ramifications of the Trump administration’s so-called “deal of the century.”
