Jews Banned from Temple Mount

On today’s Israel Uncensored with Josh Hasten, Josh discusses the rockets raining down on both northern and southern Israel, fired by the various Jihadist terror gangs. Those responsible blame recent tensions on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem in which Israeli police were forced to deal with premeditated violence carried out by Muslim “worshipers” arriving at the site during Ramadan. However, instead of continuing to demonstrate a policy of strength, the Israeli government folded and banned Jewish worshipers from visiting Judaism’s holiest site until further notice. Josh argues that weakness only breeds more chaos, violence, and terror.

Limiting Jewish Prayer on the Temple Mount

A Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court this past week ruled that Jews can pray, albeit quietly, on the Temple Mount, Judaism’s holiest site. However, police backed by Minister of Internal Security Omer Bar-Lev (Labor) are against Jewish prayer there claiming it will ignite tensions. On this week’s Israel Uncensored with Josh Hasten, Josh argues that not allowing Jews to pray on the Temple Mount is discriminatory and shows weakness, which is seized upon by our enemies here in the Middle East.

Can Jews Pray on the Temple Mount?

Over 1,600 Jews ascended The Temple Mount on Sunday, Tisha B’av to mourn the destruction of both Temples, and show their yearning for the construction of the Third Temple. Some groups were attacked by Arabs, while others were forced off the Mount after singing Hatikva, Israel’s national anthem. A statement released by Prime Minister Bennett on Sunday indicated that Jewish prayer should be allowed at Judaism’s holiest site, yet that statement was walked back this morning, indicating that the “status quo” remains in effect. In other words, Muslims can pray up there, but Jews can not. This story, plus all the latest news from Israel, on today’s Israel Uncensored with Josh Hasten.

Thousands of Arab protesters have been violently rioting on the Temple Mount (known by Muslims as Haram al-Sharif) throughout the “Jerusalem Day” holiday and over the course of the last several days, accusing Israel of attempting to “storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque” and “Judaize” the entire city. Hundreds of rioters have been injured, along with dozens of Israeli police and security personnel.

1,729 Visit Temple Mount on Tisha B’Av

While many waited for hours in the blistering sun, 1,729 Jews ascended the ramp for a visit to Judaism’s holiest site – the Temple Mount on Tisha B’av, which is the saddest day on the Jewish calendar. The Israeli police on instructions from the government flipped-flopped throughout the day, opening and closing Judaism’s holiest site to Jewish visitors. Muslim rioters had positioned themselves at the site, hanging a Hamas banner, and were vocal in opposing the area being opened for Jews. Yet while certainly not a smooth experience, Jews did in fact make it to the Temple Mount to mourn the loss of both Jewish Temples, and yearn for the rebuilding of the third – speedily in our days.

The Biblical Superhighway Unearthed

On today’s Israel Uncensored with Josh Hasten an interview with Ze’ev Orenstein Director of International Affairs for the City of David Foundation. Yesterday, the City of David opened the “Pilgrimage Road,” the actual road used by Jewish pilgrims to walk up to the Temple in Jerusalem during the High Holidays after purifying themselves in the Shiloah pools down below. Orenstein refers to this new discovery as the ancient ‘Biblical superhighway’ as hundreds of thousands of Jews would use this path to make their way up to the Temple. He also gives his take on the haters who came out to protest yesterday’s ceremony, by saying the discovery isn’t a matter of faith, but rather a matter of “fact” linking ancient Jewish history to our presence here today.

This past Sunday, I was asked to take part in an organized tour of the Temple Mount, the holiest site in all of Judaism. I accepted after embarrassingly realizing that I had not been up there in nearly three decades.
